Qiujie Jiang, MD, PhD is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Dermatology and Cutaneous Biology at Sidney Kimmel Medical College, Philadelphia, PA. Dr. Jiang’s research interest revolves around heritable disorders of connective tissue, in particular pseudoxanthoma elasticum (PXE).

The major goals of her current study are to dissect the mineralization process in PXE, to investigate the functional activity of the candidate gene/protein, ABCC6/MRP6, and to explore an effective approach to treat this currently intractable genetic disorder. These concerted research effects will provide information on the functional activity of ABCC6 and on pathogenesis of PXE, and will lead to future approaches of PXE prevention and treatment.
