Date: Wednesday, February 25, 2015
Time: 2:30 PM Eastern
Presented by: Jonathan Schoenecker, MD, PhD, Vanderbilt University

Diseases such as pseudoxanthoma elasticum are hallmarked by calcification of soft tissues. In order to prevent and remove these unwanted calcifications, scientists are searching for the essential ingredients that cause the calcifications to occur. In this webinar we will discuss the role of injury to tissues in the formation of such calcifications. Emphasis will be on the role of muscle injury in the formation of a disease process callled heterotopic ossification.
